Before Miss Peregrine gave them a home, the story of peculiars was written in the Tales.
Wealthy cannibals who dine on the discarded limbs of peculiars. A fork-tongued princess. These are but a few of the truly brilliant stories in Tales of the Peculiar—the collection of fairy tales known to hide information about the peculiar world, including clues to the locations of time loops—first introduced by Ransom Riggs in his #1 bestselling Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series.
Riggs now invites you to share his secrets of peculiar history, with a collection of original stories in this deluxe volume of Tales of the Peculiar. Featuring stunning illustrations from world-renowned artist Andrew Davidson, this compelling, rich, and truly peculiar anthology is the perfect gift for not only fans but for all lovers of great storytelling. One of the unique characteristics about the Miss Peregrine’s trilogy is the addition of peculiar photos that author Ransom Riggs wove into each book. Not only do they support the story but they add a visual to the characters and scenes. Today I am rounding up a few of my own peculiar photos to share with you. I have always loved vintage black and white photos. When I was a little girl my parents would take me to flea markets and antique stores with them. I would marvel at the shoe boxes stuffed with discarded and found vintage photos. While my parents never allowed me to get any of them (they did not understand my fascination) once I was old enough to start antiquing on my own my collection began. Sadly after years and years of moving, I lost my precious photos.
Earlier this year my husband and I bought our first home and one afternoon I went into the attic to clean out some things left up there by the previous owner. Wouldn’t you know that I found some amazing photos amongst the debris?! That’s when I remembered my lovely lost collection and started collecting again.
There are only 10 photos in my current collection but I adore them. The ladies are time loop creating Ymbrynes. The little girl with the pigeons is straight out of the Tales of the Peculiar tale, The Pigeons of Saint Paul’s. Aren’t they amazing? Do you have any unique captions for my photos?
