Reading Slumps

Reading Slumps

It’s been awhile since I’ve been in a reading slump. They usually last about a week, and this once seems to be no exception. Sadly, I still have not found a concrete way to combat the slumps. As an avid reader and BookTuber it becomes paramount that I keep my reading slumps to a minimal. At least that is how I feel. This slump took not only my motivation to read, but also my motivation for filming among other things. Lucky for me it’s been a week and I seem to be clawing my way out of this reading void.

After work this morning I was completely exhausted and wanted to take a nap. Instead I found myself actually getting some reading done for a change and then napping. I am happy to say that I am within 100 pages of finishing my first book for October. I also hope to get a little bit more read tonight before bed. I did pick out several books for the month and yes, they all centered around Halloween somewhat. I haven’t been doing monthly TBR’s because I find that I’m usually am not in the mood for what I do pick out in advance. I have much more success going from book to book deciding as I go. Now that I have released myself from my October TBR I hope I can dive back into reading. Maybe I won’t get as much reading done this month, but I’m doing this for fun!

If you have reading slump tips that have worked for you let me know. I’ve watched tons of videos and I have read tons of posts about this topic. I have tried many of the tips, but the one that does seem to work best is to not force it, and do other things until you feel like reading again. Until next time, Happy Reading!

  • I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump as well. It started off as a book hangover from the book Never Never by Brianna Shrum. I loved it sooo much! I”m currently reading a review book so it’s hard because I’m such a mood reader. Slumps are the worst, but good thing they usually don’t last too long. I’m glad to hear you got some reading done and I hope you find lots of motivation soon! Happy reading!

    • It’s a blessing and a curse to get books to review. You feel as if you need to get them done to get the review done, but at the same time if you’re not in the mood for that genre it can definitely leave you feeling slumpy. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
