June 2017 Once Upon A Book Club | Dark Breaks the Dawn

Once Upon A Book Club offers its members a unique reading experience in the form of the goodies included in the box. It sends you 3-5 corresponding gifts to match a quote/item mentioned in the story. As you’re reading you will notice messages instructing you to open one of your gifts. This concept heightens the reading experience. It aids the reader in being immersed into the world. Every month they also include discussion questions allowing the readers to interact with other subscribers and discuss the book/gifts. The box arrives with wrapped goodies with page numbers. When you get to that page there is a reminder it’s time to open one of the gifts. In April they launched their YA box and I was lucky enough to switch over my service and join in the excitement. Once Upon A Book Club now offers both their adult fiction and YA boxes to readers.

I am posting this early and have not had a chance to open all the goodies yet. If you would like to know everything included stay tuned to my Instagram stories and YouTube channel as I plan to do a reading experience with this month’s box.

Dark Breaks the Dawn by Sara B. Larson

purchase: Amazon

On her eighteenth birthday, Princess Evelayn of Eadrolan, the Light Kingdom, can finally access the full range of her magical powers. The light looks brighter, the air is sharper, and the energy she can draw when fighting feels almost limitless.

But while her mother, the queen, remains busy at the war front, in the Dark Kingdom of Dorjhalon, the corrupt king is plotting. King Bain wants control of both kingdoms, and his plan will fling Evelayn onto the throne much sooner than she expected.

In order to defeat Bain and his sons, Evelayn will quickly have to come into her ability to shapeshift, and rely on the alluring Lord Tanvir. But not everyone is what they seem, and the balance between the Light and Dark comes at a steep price. (Goodreads)
