Books I Am Thankful For

The Lunar Chronicles

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.” ~Melody Beattie

First I want to thank all the books ever written and published. Authors create magical worlds, fantastic characters, and tackle tough issues in a way that we can relate. I have been reading for as long as I can remember. Every Christmas I would ask for the newest Babysitter’s Club book or Sweet Valley High book, and when I got them I would sit down after opening them and read them cover to cover. As I got older and started going to the public library I would check out stacks and stacks of books. Even in high school I would go to the library on the weekend and check out books and magazines. I remember reading or at least checking out so many biographies. I still remember the layout of the main library in the Washington County Public Library system. I wonder how it has changed over the years… Today I want to highlight a few books that I’m extra thankful for. This is by no means a complete list.

The Body Farm by Patricia Cornwell

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell

Cinder by Marissa Meyer

The Giver by Lois Lowry

Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi

  • I completely agree with everything you’ve said here Gwen! These are all such amazing books. The Giver is so thought-provoking and eye-opening, and it’s one of those rare yet marvelous books that makes you see the world in a different way. And Cinder is such a creative spin on the Cinderella tale. Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous post! ♥

    • Thanks so much Zoe. It was great reading and watching readers rave about their favorite books and hearing the personal accounts on why it means so much to them. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
